» Web Application for Small Businesses

After doing the small business software for Danville Hobby Center I decided I would like to make a more general purpose software not specifically tailored to just one industry. This application takes it one more step than just having employees use the software, but also having customers use the software. The client can not only manage his customers, inventory, appointments, etc. but can also give limited user access to his customers. What the customer can view is decided by an administrator, but would generally include the community calender, the messaging system, and maybe a few other features. The idea is to create an easy channel of communication between the interested parties. The messaging system could be used for the following examples: A distributing company that needs to keep in close contact with his customers, a company that specializes in services and needs constant feedback from customers, etc. This application was written in HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL.

Features:

  • Multiple user accounts with varying levels of access.
  • Messaging system to keep in touch with customers.
  • Schedule system for all users to manage various appointments.
  • Homepage to notify the user of new messages, upcoming appointments, and community events.
  • Options available to all users to customize their homepage.
  • Community calendar on which all users are able to view and add events.
  • Inventory management system.
  • Finance system to manage sales and invoices.
  • Statistics to help guide the business.
